Classification of online video games
► G1 games: video games with interaction between many players simultaneously through the server system of the enterprise;
► G2 games: Video games that only have interaction between the player and the server system;
► G3 Games: Video games with interaction between multiple players but no interaction between players and the server system; and
► G4 games: Video games are downloaded over the network, with no interaction between players and between players and game servers.
Conditions for providing game services
Enterprises providing online video game services must meet the following conditions:

Enterprises may only provide G1 game services when they have a license to provide video game services and a Decision approving content and scripts for each video game issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Enterprises may only provide G2, G3, G4 game services when they have issued notice of service provision for each video game.
Enterprises must send a notice for each video game to the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information (ABEI of MIC) at least 30 days before providing game services.
If enterprises do not receive a response from the Ministry of Information and Communications (ABEI) within 10 days, enterprises are allowed to provide the game by the estimated date stated in the notification.

Rights and obligations of enterprises providing video game services
► Have at least 01 server system located in Vietnam to meet the inspection, storage, provision of information and settlement of customer complaints related to service provision;
► Set up a website that provides video game services, including:
◙ Classification of video games by player age for each game;
◙ The rules of each video game;
◙ Regulations governing information and operation of video games;
◙ Rules on resolving complaints and disputes of interest arising between players and businesses, between players and players.
► Apply measures to limit the negative impact of games provided by businesses, including:
◙ Providing information about the game
◙ Categorizing video games by age and recommending possible unintended physical and mental effects on players;
◙ For G1 game: register the player's personal information, and apply playtime restrictions to children, players under 18 years old;
► Ensure the legitimate interests of players; resolve complaints and disputes arising between players and businesses, between players and players;
►Comply with regulations on virtual items and reward points;
►When ceasing to provide game services, companies must notify on the website 90 days before stopping providing services, have solutions to ensure players' interests, and report to the Ministry of Information and Communications 15 days before ceasing the service.
►Manage the content of conversations between players through technical measures;
►Not allowed to advertise unapproved/unannounced video games on mass media;
►Prepare periodic and irregular reports.
